I'll be happier when...

Have you ever created a world for yourself that believes- I will be happier when I...

- Get promoted

- Get a new job

- Earn more money

- Find a new partner.

- Lose weight

- Finish this big project

The challenge with this mindset is that you are never truly happy as you are not focused on the present, being grateful for you have just now.

Happiness does not last when it’s centred around any external or material things. It only gives a short dopamine impact.

I share this because this was my world for many years before I realised I was just using the external validation to mask the internal sadness that I had suppressed. (It’s called being in hyper achiever mode) You can still have the new job or new partner but after focusing on your inner happiness.
